My seatmates at the office are food critics, I am amazed at how they know almost every trendy spot in and out of the CBD. Plus, they rarely try a restaurant twice. Lol! Last payday, July 15, we had our lunch at La Creperie in Salcedo Village, Makati. Its a cute, dainty place that serves french cuisine and crepes.
I loved how they style their place. It was very open and light. The ambiance was refreshing and bit feminine. Each table has its own privacy so you could enjoy a good chat with your group or your partner (if you’re a couple).
Serving time was quick – all food were served in under 20 minutes. First to arrive is the legendary “Angelina’s” (Php210). Its a hot chocolate that is very frothy and we were really impressed with it! Isce ordered this one and we requested for an extra teacup so we could try.
The whipped cream and chocolate tablet (which melts when poured into your drink) were served separately. I swear, I would come back for this! Here’s a pic of Isce filling her cup with the thick hot chocolate drink hmmm.. you can imagine it as a hot version of your favorite milk chocolate shake!
Next to arrive was Marvin’s Shrimp with Mango Salad (Php235). According to him, it was basic yet light tasting.
Few more orders followed: Eric’s French Onion Soup Php295 (my favorite, though I didn’t get to taste it, I just love Onion Soups with massive cheese!) and Sausage Crepe (Not sure what it’s called in their menu). He said the soup was just “okay”, he might be a little overwhelmed with the usual aroma of onion soups.
The sausage crepe as per Eric was a bit unsatisfactory. But when paired with the served sauce its good to go.
Eric also ordered this tempting Brownie Sundae for dessert which made him feel like a child all over again!
Shy’s meal was this Angus Beef Tapa (PHp395) As per Shy, the beef was sadly chewy. Although she did loved the overall presentation.
What made the overall lunch memorable was Isce’s “Super Complete” (Php415). Everyone who tasted it (including me) fell in love with it! Eggs, ham, bacon and melted cheese were the toppings of this fluffy buckwheat crepe. Its super, complete!
My order was the “Pesto Cream Carbonara” (Php275). Sorry to be painfully honest – but it was just so-so.. Yes, it could be satisfying but I expected more. And I guess that is how we get hurt, when we expect something more (lol, #hugot)
I liked Marvin’s dessert though! The caramel syrup was just right for the soft crepe.
The place is picturesque and has a good lighting capacity, natural light also flows in. So if you’re looking for an instagram-worthy resto, go here!
Overall the experience was worth it. I would definitely comeback for the “Angelina’s” and “Super Complete” exclude the Mushroom (I’m not a fan of mushrooms, generally speaking).
