Our Spa Experience at Nurture Wellness Village

After having brunch at Sonya’s Garden we headed to our Airbnb apartment at Wind Residences. It was a plain space but the view was magnificent – right in front of Taal Lake, a beaming unobstructed view. A humid day in Tagaytay and our friend O was a bit exhausted, Ray too who drove all the way from Manila hence I came to the thought of getting us a pleasant massage.

I’ve been wanting to visit Nurture Wellness Village cause it’s top recommended in Trip Advisor. It was just near the pad – roughly 15-20 minute drive with light traffic. I called beforehand 30 minutes earlier and was delighted to find out that 3 masseuse are still available for a 4pm appointment. I told the front desk that we just wanted an affordable massage though I know their massages could be very pricey. She then recommended “Hilot Kagalingan” a 1 hour massage which is Php1,200/person. Time to splurge!

The location was a bit far from the main road but it is the essence of the place to be private and be close to nature. There were ample parking and the huge hut welcomes you to their lounge.

A lot of staff were at the lobby, happily welcoming us. They offered some tea. Love love this tea! I love anything that has a pandan aroma in it!

O, once again glanced at the services menu as we were handed with forms which will contain our profiles and an outline of which body parts we want the masseuse to focus on and avoid. Afterwards we were led to the mini huts that served as their massage area. Ray flied solo while O and I shared in the couple hut that has a private bath with tub and all. Fancy!

Every piece were very detailed and I cant wait to start our relaxation! At first I thought those mini buckets will be used for our feet but they are actually something you will look at while facing down on your head rest and then you peep and see the beautiful flower formation.

Before the actual massage, they asked as to sit at the wooden chairs and soak our feet in the warm water filled with tea tree oil. They cleaned our feet and performed a mini scrub. Ahhh.. so the hour went on and I fell asleep!

  • After the foot ritual, we laid on the bed and they started by making a natural sound of raw cereals/rice from the wooden bamboo (not sure if its bamboo) they say its from Kalinga.
  • The main massage started from the back (which I like!)
  • They explain to you most of the time, what they are using and doing but of course they stop if they see you’re asleep
  • They have a different stroke that you cant find in any ordinary swedish massage
  • They use coconut oil
  • They serve tea once more after the pampering

It may be a luxury massage but it was all worth it ❤ The details, strokes, centralized music and private huts makes everything worthwhile. They are well trained and professional! When we come back I want to try and do glamping plus massage within the open nipa hut!
