Novotel Manila Araneta Center in the Green Scene

Last April, I am very humbled to be invited to Novotel Manila Araneta Center’s Planet 21 Annual Celebration Launch. Around 20 local and international food & travel bloggers joined the intimate event and we were very lucky to be the first to try Novotel’s Healthy N Sustainable set menu.

Aside from from being known as a multinational hospitality company, AccorHotels group is also recognized for its sustainable development program called “PLANET 21”. The group’s ambitious goal includes striving for zero food waste, offering healthy and sustainable food, and engaging its guests in a sustainable experience.

As part of the Planet 21 program, Novotel Manila Araneta Center’s initiatives include sourcing produce from its very own El Dorado Farm in San Mateo, Rizal. The hotel also reduces food waste by donating excess food to The Philippine National Red Cross.

Did you know? In 2017 alone, the hotel managed to save 16.9 tons of food from landfills equal to 42,220 meals or 73.2 tons of CO2e, equivalent of 179,364 miles driven in a car. Yes, Novotel!

Its sad that I wasn’t able to publish this article during their Planet 21 celebration period (due to medical reasons) but I still want you to have a look at what they have offered from April 21 – May 20. Fresh and traceable seafood and all these hearty dishes were served.

Super Soft Buns – I ate like 4 of these ❤

Sustainable Spanner Crab
Tortellini with Novotel Manila’s El Dorado Farm Carrot-Saffron Velouté

The tortelline blends well with the carrot sauce mmm

Line-Caught Seared Tuna in Organic Avocado
Ceviche with Novotel Manila’s El Dorado Farm vegetable and herbs

Starter, traceable Tuna, tastes like legit steak!

Bisque from Mangrove Crown Prawns

This was so good, really tasty. Thank Heavens I got invited to the event prior to being hospitalized! Lol, just kidding ❤

Sustainable Grilled Herb-Marinated Sword Fish with Creamy Spinach and Vine-Ripened Tomatoes from Novotel Manila’s El Dorado Farm on Sweet Potato Pureé

I’ve never tasted anything so fresh as this main course!

Mango-Passion fruit Cheesecake

I was really avoiding dairy and sweets, but i just couldn’t resist..

Though this menu was just available for a limited time, don’t fret! Novotel Manila’s restaurants specially Food Exchange Manila always sources most of their ingredients from its own El Dorado farm as mentioned above. Sustainable seafood farmed through means which consider long term vitality of ocean life.

I have been blogging for 11 years and have seen the ups and downs of internet marketing. I love blogging about travel and comfort food while I work full time as a Digital Marketing Manager for an IT Company. On my free time I play the piano and love to do online window shopping. I am obsessed too with city lights at night.
